Sur Mini Cooper au tout début, ensuite avec Alfa Romeo, puis McLaren, Chevron, Lola et Penske. De nombreux pilotes de talents se succéderont pour apporter à VDS deux titres de F5000 British et un titre F5000 Tasman, jusqu’à la consécration ultime : le titre CanAm avec un voiture de sa propre fabrication, la VDS 001.
